Shy Nature

Again, one of the bands that played alongside 'Flyte' at 60 Million Postcards. Beautiful vocals from the lead and great guitar solos. These three chaps were inspiring to watch and brought a warm feeling to everyone in the room. Songs felt incredibly nostalgic and even managed to bring a few dancers onto the floor. If you love beautiful vocals and a good dance, these three are the one for you!

Fabulous!

I was wondering around in Bournemouth when I came across a band night in one of our popular local bars '60 Million Postcards'. There were three bands due to play that night and unfortunately one of my ex-lovers' bands were playing too. After an awkward encounter and quick hug goodbye from the ex, the band 'Flyte' played a few songs from their set. I was in awe watching this band, they had so much energy and charisma, at first I thought they were going to be a 'Stone Roses' tribute due to their classic reeboks and over-sized polos.. but I was corrected. Nothing like any band. A truly new and original vibe echoes off of this band and they are such a delight to listen to.

Ady Suleiman

Uhhhh, love this, absolutely love this man! His voice is so wonderful and motivating yet incredibly moving and thought-provoking. I found this chap after being recommended to by a friend and I am so glad that his voice has made it into my itunes. I can only describe him as a Jose Gonzalez/Marcus Foster with his beautiful acoustic sessions along with gentle folk vocals. Incredibly chilled and warming.

Definitely give him a listen!

Marcus Foster

I am such a lucky little being to have been present at one of his performances recently at The Haunt - Brighton (Saw him the same night I saw The Mispers in my previous post). His performance was incredibly moving and almost tearful for me, it really moved me. Foster has such a distinctive and angelic voice that I have not stopped listening to him since I saw his performance. The soul and energy he put into it was just pure bliss and I remember that there was not a utter of sound in the room whilst he was singing, everybody was just so focused on him it was really quite inspiring. I do love a good acoustic/guitar artist with mainly folk vocals, and Marcus Foster is exactly that! Many of his songs do spark a lot of sad and nostalgic emotion (be aware), but do not let that put you off! He is really something, an incredibly talented individual.

The Mispers

Happened to be present unknowingly at one of their gigs the other night at The Haunt - Brighton. They played an absolute cracking set and soon got me completely hooked! This London band can only be described as a Young Kato with Joe Newman vocals (Alt J's leading vocals) and a violin. I absolutely love the fact this band have a violinist, it makes them such a diverse group as we never really have any modern alternative bands quite like this! Another thing that grabbed my attention was the enthuthiasm from the lead singer.. he really got everyone going with his upbeat gestures and interesting moves on stage..

Really impressed with them and look forward to hearing more upcoming tracks.
Definitely worth listening to, give them a try!

Outside Central

Stumbled across these lads on the recent episode of Made In Chelsea. Absolutely fallen in love with them! These upcoming fellas are a Pop/Rock band with a Wombats-cross-Jake Bugg twang to them, definitely one for all those guitar riff lovers out there! The few songs I have come across do tend to be of the lovers/relationship subject catergory, however their sound is to die for and can put a smile on anyone's face! These boys are ones to look out for!

Boardmasters Festival 2013

Looking for a new festival to tickle your music buds next year? Want something a little different? Then definitely book your tickets for next years 2014 Boardmasters festival. It has an amazing balance of music, surfing, BMXing, and skating which is very hard to find these days. It is set up down at Watergate Bay and Fistral Beach down in Newquay and me and a few girlies went down to the festival this year to check it out. We had an amazing time and were very impressed with all the acts and all the facilities/activities going on. Although there is not as many parties/raves as the Reading/Leeds festival has, it is still crazy and even more amazing because of the constant surf and skate competitions which are free to watch! The acts that performed this year were absolutely unbelievable! We will definitely be attending next year!
